APees: Introductory notes on the Gothic novel and Frankenstein, with a read-aloud from the first letter Robert Walton writes to his sister, Margaret Walton Saville. We will discuss the nature of exploration and the challenge of discerning the gender of an author from the text--and if that is even relevant to our analysis.
